Language Classes

JGU offers German Language Classes for Students, Doctoral Students, Postdocs, Visiting Scientists, and Staff.

Crash course German B1 (online, 5 weeks) - For JGU doctoral students, postdocs, visiting scholars, JGU employees


Course start: 21.06.2022

Course end: 21.07.2022

Course days: Tuesday, 15.30-17.00 & Thursday, 15.30-17.00

Credits: 2 ECTS (with exam)

Admission requirements: completed level A2 (must be proven by certificate or placement test)

Course Description: In the course, the focus is on speaking. This competence is practiced through role plays, discussions and presentations. Listening and reading texts serve as an introduction or consolidation of B1-relevant topics such as work/career, traffic/mobility and studying/learning.

The course is taught as an online Moodle course with BigBlueButton. Active participation in class is required. Students will need an internet-enabled electronic device with a microphone and camera.

The following textbook will be used in the course: Begegnungen B1+ (authors: Anne Buscha & Szilvia Szita), 3rd edition, Schubert Verlag.

The number of participants is limited to 35. You are not entitled to a place in the course. Regarding the confirmation of your participation, you will receive a notification from the International Office. The course and its content are designed and conducted by the ISSK.
