Application Advising – International Learning and Teaching

The Office for Application Advising in International Learning and Teaching provides comprehensive support to employees of JGU Mainz in preparing and submitting EU project proposals in the field of learning and teaching. The office provides information on calls for proposals and funding structures and offers individual advising and hands-on help for all stages of a project – from submitting the application to implementing the project.

The Union of Skills is a strategy for strengthening the European Education Area and is meant to integrate current developments on the job market. The goals and measures laid out in the Union of Skills influence future calls for proposals and are particularly relevant for Erasmus+ project applications.

The four strategic priorities – also known as “horizontal priorities” – play a central role in the Erasmus+ program and should be addressed in every application. These priorities are: Inclusion and diversity; digital transformation; environment and fight against climate change; participation in democratic life, common values and civic engagement. They can be part of the project’s goals and/or be addressed in the project planning and implementation stages.

Funding programs

Overview of the Erasmus+ programs and actions for implementing joint strategic partnerships and collaborative projects in learning and teaching.

Erasmus+ cooperation partnerships enable higher education institutions and other bodies to develop and share innovative practice. They have a flexible design and are suitable for a wide variety of internationalization projects – including, for example, joint development of international teaching formats, online teaching, and international degree programs.

The Erasmus+ Alliances for Innovation serve to strengthen the cooperation between university education, vocational training, and the economy in order to develop new teaching and learning methods and strengthen the entrepreneurial mindset. Their goal is to promote relevant skills and foster innovation in Europe.

Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education projects support the modernization, accessibility, and internationalization of university education in third countries which are not associated with the Erasmus+ program. They promote the exchange of knowledge and good practice between European and international higher education institutions.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master programs are international master’s degree programs offered jointly by higher education institutions from multiple countries. Students study at a minimum of two universities abroad. The funding includes scholarships for outstanding students from all over the world.

In the context of Erasmus Mundus Design Measures, funding is provided to higher education institutions who intend to develop a new joint Erasmus Mundus master’s degree program. They support planning and collaboration between international partner universities before the actual degree program is up and running.
