Thank you for interest in Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU).
For students coming from universities in Ukraine, JGU does offer the possibility to enroll for one or two semesters as EXCHANGE STUDENTS/FREEMOVER (= an exchange student outside of a framework such as Erasmus+)
This may be an option for you if you missed the deadlines for application for a degree-program at JGU or if you plan to go on with your studies in Ukraine after a study period in Germany.
To get the admission to enroll as Freemover at JGU you need the confirmation of the department that they can accept you (a simple email confirmation is enough).
Please write an email to the respective contact person in the department/ subject that you are interested in.
Please indicate at which university you study, what you study at your home university, for which semester you want to join JGU and if you want to come for one or two semesters.
Please attach your transcript of records

Please note:
Due to the war in your home country, you don’t need to hand in a confirmation or nomination by your home university (as freemover applicants generally do) – the confirmation from the department is enough.
The GIS Services are part of the International Office and are the main contact for exchange students.

Please attach the confirmation received by the department at JGU
Once we receive your email, we will send you all further information for nominated students. Please check our website for our Practical Guides and Manuals which will guide you through all the necessary steps.
